The bit.ly link you have is to an old version of the apk. Installing it now still produces a message from Spectrum saying that an update is required. Do you have a link for the latest version?

Thank you, Sara, for your prompt response. However, that apk (http://bit.ly/specdow) doesn’t work on a Firestick either. Have you tested it? I can download and install it OK, and scroll through the initial screens to the right. But when I get to the last one and click on the ‘Let’s Get Started’ button, the app dumps me back out to the Firestick Apps or Home screen. It seems like Spectrum has built a check into the code to test whether it is running on a Firestick, and if so, to disable it. Can you verify my results, please?
Need update
Spectrum update there app 12-17-19 that is when I lost my spectrum on fire stick, I called spectrum and asked them if they added a code to block it. Would not say yes or no, just that they were not compatible
I tried installing Spectrum on my Android phone (worked) and then using a phone app called Apps2Fire to transfer the app to the Firestick (with all Firestick developer options turned on). That install completed OK and I got further than before, but at the moment of truth when you actually try to play a channel, it still bombs out and dumps you back to home. So, right now, I am out of ideas! : (
Looks like maybe I’ll have to resort to using Chromecast to ‘cast’ directly from the phone to the TV.
Unfortunately, the latest version does not work either. This one does not ask for an update. It will take you through a few welcome screens but when you finally click on Watch TV, the app just quits. Try to reload app and same result. All permissions are set correctly. It just shuts down and goes back to the main Firestick screen.
I have an Amazon Fire TV box that I was able to complete my install of Spectrum TV on 12/31/2019. When I try to do the Open, I am getting the message that an update is required. I proceed but then get a message that it is unavailable. I have tried this several times using Downloader with the same results.
